The Catholic Church Pt. 2

Revelation 17

This lesson is the lesson is the 2nd part of the biblical perspective of the Catholic Church. They fit the description of the “Woman that rides the Beast”. The Catholic Church is the “Woman” who rides the beast that “was, is not, and yet is” (Rev. 17:8) which is the coming One World Government. The events you see happening globally on the news is all the process of forming the New World Order NWO. We cover that topic in another lesson. The Catholic Church has deceived millions. While witnessing to Catholics, I’ve found the most powerful message is the subject of the love of Jesus. Understanding His love and sacrifice above all else including Mary and the Pope, makes us “Christians” and is what gives us access to Heaven.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

After the Angel gives the identity of the woman as an apostate world religion, he then identifies the beast, she is riding. The beast that the woman is writing is the one world government, which we call today the New World order.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

God, in an omnipotent way, has revealed to John the future location of this “woman” while at the same time prophetically identifying the governmental system she will manipulate in verse 9. This cryptic verse has more than one meaning regarding the seven mountains on which the woman sits:

1. This is likely a reference to the Vatican. The Vatican is a city, state that stands independent from the rest of Italy and Rome. It has its own police force and military. Is not under the authority or jurisdiction of the nation Italy. Rome has always been known as a city on 7 hills. Josephus and other historians use the phrase, “city on 7 hills” as a reference to Rome. It is within the city of Rome, called The City on Seven Hills, that the entire area of Vatican State Proper is now confined" The Catholic Encyclopedia, p. 529. Babylon is also another name to in reference to the city of Rome.

I Peter 5:13

13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.

Peter was not referring to a church actually in the city of Babylon; Peter was referring to the city of Rome. At the height of its prominence in the world, city of Rome was often referred to as Babylon. Geographically, the city of Rome actually sits on seven hills which are all named:

1. The Old Testament often referred to mountains as governments. Seven mountains is also a reference to the seven prominent governments name in Scripture.

• Egypt

• Assyria

• Babylon

• Medo-Persia

• Greece

• Roman

• Rome reborn (NWO)

This is a strange description of the beast, but it has been described once before in the book of Daniel chapter 7. This new world government is the last of 7 world governments from which the Bible has identified in the Old Testament: Verse 10 says “five are fallen”, referring to the five nations that had fallen at the time John was given this prophecy. “One is”, is a reference to the Roman Empire, which existed at the time John was given this prophecy. “And the other is yet not come”, this is a reference to the reborn Roman Empire or world government. The New World order which the revived Roman Empire, will be controlled and manipulated by the world religious system. The Antichrist will be in control New World order intake religious system. John's view of the future looks at five of the world empires from Egypt to Greece in the past tense. They present Empire of John's was the Roman Empire. The future world kingdom to come is the revived Roman Empire.

Daniel 7

3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Daniel's view of the future differs from John's only because of their perspective based on the time periods they were living. Daniel's prophecy of the four governments represented by an image of four metals is from the time period of the Babylonian Empire. The Egyptian and Assyrian empires were passed, he was living in the babbling Empire, the Persian, Grecian, Roman, and revived Roman empires were yet to come. This would equal seven empires, the beast with seven heads, or seven Hills.

The beast that John saw is the eighth, and is of the seventh. This is described in this manner because the Antichrist is a ruler, which comes from the seventh world kingdom. He will only rule for a short time during the tribulation period the before he is cast to the Lake of fire (perdition) alive with the false prophet. The New World order will be comprised of 10 kingdoms. There is been a lot of speculation as to how these 10 kingdoms will exist. The past many.it would be the member states of the common market for the G-8. Today many speculate that it could be the 10 international trading zones. There is no certainty because the Bible doesn't give any specifics. Scriptures do tell us that there will be 10 at the outset but the Antichrist will overthrow three, leaving seven. The remaining seven will give their authority to the Antichrist who will rule them in a dictatorship or monarchist fashion.

The one world religion headed by the false prophet, will exist only to the. At that point the Antichrist will declare that he is god and demand the world worship him, only. Antichrist will no longer have any need one world religion (apostate church), and destroy it. The description of its instruction seems to indicate a nuclear attack or some sort of singular act, which destroys Rome in one attack. The desire to destroy the world religion will be inspired by God. He will use them to fulfill his purpose to bring judgment on this Earth religious system which has caused many to perish in hell. This by how things may seem or appear, we have to remember that God sits on the throne in heaven and rules the Earth. He alone permits men to be Kings, presidents, prime ministers, or dictators. He also deposes and removes world leaders as he sees fit. Everything that we see happening in that will happen is allowed by God and fulfills his prophetic word.
