Ezekiel 38-39 Gog & Magog

The aftermath of destruction is the reason this war could not take place during the tribulation period. Nor is this event the same as the war that takes place at the end of the millennial period (Rev. 20:8-9). After this war, at the end of the millennial period, the affairs of mankind on earth are over and the Great White Throne of Judgement will take place.

Israel will be on the run and fleeing after the “abomination of desolation” (Matt. 24:15-21). It is not realistic for Israel to have 7 years to bury the weapons of war and 7 years to bury the dead during the tribulation period. Israel will be protected from the antichrist during his assault on them (Rev. 12:14-17).

It is more likely that this event takes place before the tribulation period. I’m uncertain if this event takes place before or after the rapture. The war of Psalms 83 and Ezekiel 38 and 39, almost all of the Muslim nations in the Middle East will have been destroyed.

None of Israel's Muslim enemies will be left to prevent Israel from occupying the land God promised them in Genesis 15:18. Israel has never occupied all of the land God has promised them, which means this is still a future prophetic event.

Genesis 15:18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

There will be no one to oppose or object to the Temple in Israel being rebuilt. The stage will be set for Israel to sign the covenant with many nations in the Antichrist. These conditions are in line with the situation the Bible describes at the beginning of the great tribulation.
