Jesus is Coming Back

Luke 21

7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

This prophetic passage of scripture was spoken by Jesus. As I study prophetic scripture, I revere the information from the “source” Jesus as infallible. Jesus was describing the conditions in the last days regarding the oppression of Christians. He offered as a warning or “Heads-Up” to Christians and the church. Around the world, all of the hardships Jesus spoke of in this passage can be seen. We don’t see as much of it in the United States as is happening in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. But it is coming slowly, in phases. What is happening right now is the changes in the laws over time that have become more hostile and restrictive to Christianity. Soon, Christian views and doctrines will be outside of the law and not tolerated at all. Some churches and Christians have chosen to compromise instead of taking a stand for the actual principles of the Bible. Some of them crave acceptance from society and the world more than acceptance from God. I believe this is the reason for the “Great falling away”, spoken of in 2 Thes. 2:3. Many have sadly, fallen away from the faith while yet sitting in the pews Sunday after Sunday. Some churches rarely teach about Jesus’ 2nd coming or hell even though Jesus taught about these scriptures throughout His ministry. These are foundational truths about the Gospel all Christians should know about.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ includes the good news that Jesus is coming again. The conditions of the world today are just as Jesus described before His return. The points of encouragement and strength for Christians who are oppressed and persecuted are that eternal happiness and blessings will follow Jesus return. Jesus’ rewards are forever and ever. The happiness the devil offers is temporary and will end in an eternity in the Lake of Fire. As Christians we have to be able to look past the hardships that will be coming. We should be inspired to witness knowing that we are finally coming to the end and may actually be taken up in the rapture. The perilous times that are coming aren’t the end, but a temporary hardship that will be followed by the most fantastic awards imaginable.

Ezekiel 3

18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

The good news is that it is not too late to go all out spreading the gospel. We still have religious freedoms in the U.S. We need to band together in a show of strength and solidarity as one church, the body of Christ. All Christians, white, black, Pentecostal, Lutheran, and etc. who call on the name of Jesus need to speak out with one voice against unrighteousness. We need to pray with one voice. It is our job to fight and contend for the faith until Jesus comes for us. (Jude 1:3)It’s not too late to be the “watchers for Jesus 2nd Coming” that we’ve been called to be. It’s not too late to take a stand for Jesus Christ, to whom we owe EVERYTHING.
